Artwork & Logo File GuideGet your logo production-ready.

The right file makes for a better result and a faster turnaround. Here’s what we need from you.

Vector logo artwork zoomed in

Step 1

Send us the right file

It all starts with your logo artwork file. Please send us a vector file or a quality 300 dpi bitmap. The small logo from your website is NOT suitable.

Low resolution logo zoomed in showing pixels
A low-resolution or web file is only 72–96 dpi – not ideal for embroidery.
Logo pixels compared with embroidery stitches
A pixel is much smaller than a stitch, so some fine detail may need to be simplified when embroidered.

Step 2

Vector or bitmap?

Vector logo staying sharp when enlarged
Vector – bestVector images are made of lines and curves. They stay sharp when you zoom in or enlarge them, and are fully editable and scalable in programs like CorelDRAW® and Adobe® Illustrator.
Bitmap logo becoming pixelated when enlarged
BitmapBitmap images are made of tiny dots called pixels. The more you enlarge one, the blurrier it gets – often called “pixelated”.

Step 3

Size matters – in embroidery!

Each product has an average or maximum size, because of its physical limits or simply for looks. We create a different embroidery file for each product type – they vary in size, stitch density and sequence – so one logo can have several embroidery files.

ShirtAverage width 90 mm
Embroidered logo size on a cap front

Large embroidered logo size on a garment back
LargeAverage width 230 mm

Step 4

Lettering size

The minimum height for good-quality embroidered lettering is 4 mm. Small letters or words in your logo may need to be enlarged to meet it.

Colours in your logo

Where possible, please give us Pantone colours, so the design can be set up for embroidery on both light and dark garments. Without them, your job may need to go back to the digitiser and come out of the production schedule, causing delays.

On-screen colours aren’t reliable for an exact match, and not every Pantone colour has an exact thread match – but the colour information is essential to digitise your design in the right sequence.

Lettering needs to be at least 4 mm high to stitch cleanly.
